Practice Yoga After A Workout To Reduce Injury And Relieve Stress

At the end of any physical exercise, your body is warm and your muscles fatigued. This is the optimal time to practice deep relaxing yoga poses that stretch your muscles. When you turn up your internal thermostat by working out, your muscles and connective tissue become more pliable and can lengthen effectively without injury. When you’re wrung out, physically and mentally, your mind ad body are more willing perform stretching poses. These poses can help relax and release muscle tension caused by strength training or stress.

Muscle soreness can also be pretty uncomfortable, or even painful, after an intense workout. If you are going to meet some friends after you hit the gym, it can also be quite inconvenient. If you tend to work out a lot, you are going to be sore all the time.

By using yoga to remove soreness and tension after a workout, the chance of future injury also significantly diminishes. The below poses are designed to increases flexibility in your muscles and joints and to release stress and tension.

These poses and stretches have a number of other benefits. For example, they help in reducing heart rate and blood pressure, while boosting your immune system. Plus you create traction in your spine, removing pressure from the disks between your vertebrae.

Outside of relaxing your muscles after a hard workout, there are other benefits of practicing yoga. Chronic stress can also increase your risk of obesity, heart disease, and even elevate cortisol levels. Too much cortisol can be harmful, and yoga helps in decreasing and managing it.
